Congratulations. You guys are going to have a great time.
Places of interest: Getty museum http://www.getty.edu/museum/, LaBrea Tar Pits http://www.tarpits.org/, and LA County Museum http://www.lacma.org/. There is a Dodger game on the 6 and 7 against the Mets http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NA...x.jsp?c_id=la. Of course the beach would be fun to go to too.
Also, there is the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino http://www.huntington.org/. They have an great collection of art (It's where Pinky and Blue Boy reside) and the home and garden is out of sight.

Hooray! I can practically hear the shrieks of joy too. I'm so happy for you guys, and I hope you have TONS of fun in Los Angeles!!!
Alliesunshine suggested some pretty good tourist spots around LA and LA County. (I used to work as an intern at LACMA!) I would also suggest that you visit Santa Monica...do a little shopping at the Third Street Promenade...visit the Pier and the beach. You could also head on over to Hollywood, maybe catch a musical at the Pantages Theater? And how about a day trip to Disneyland in Orange County? (The other happiest place on earth besides AGP? Hehe.)

Pantages Theater schedule: http://broadwayla.org/pantages/schedule.asp

Hope this helps. Enjoy!
